Lawrence Fine Art

Name : Cleve Gray
Biography :

Cleve Gray (1918-2004) was a second generation abstract expressionist painter known for his gestural abstractions and the unorthodox way in which he produced them--pouring, staining, sponging and other non-traditional techniques. Probably his best known work is his "Threnody" series, a tribute to the dead of the Vietnam war.

Gray's work can be found in numerous public collections, including the Met, the Guggenheim, the Corcoran, the Brooklyn Museum and others.
